Benefits & Key Features
  • No Soap, No Irritation: Free from soap, this formula keeps the skin's natural barrier intact and lowers the chances of dryness, irritation, and flare-ups after bathing.
  • Gentle for Regular Use: Free from harsh soaps and drying agents, it handles frequent bathing without stripping the coat's natural oils.
  • Colloidal Oatmeal Soothes Itch: Colloidal oatmeal contains compounds that penetrate the skin to calm inflammation and relieve itching at its source.
  • Safe with Flea Treatments: This formula will not interfere with topical flea treatments, making it a dependable choice alongside your pet's parasite prevention routine.
  • Aloe Vera Supports Healing: Aloe vera carries natural anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin irritation and actively support the skin's healing process.
  • Restores the Skin's Moisture: Natural emollients in this formula replenish moisture lost through irritation or over-washing, leaving the coat soft and manageable.

FAQ

Q1: What is Pet Scholars Oatmeal and Aloe Vera Shampoo?

Ans: Pet Scholars Oatmeal and Aloe Vera Shampoo is a soap-free, anti-itch shampoo formulated for dogs and cats with dry, itchy, or irritated skin. Colloidal oatmeal, aloe vera, and vitamins work together to cleanse gently, restore moisture, and support healthier skin with regular use.

Q2: Can I use this shampoo if my pet is on a topical flea treatment?

Ans: Yes. The soap-free formula does not contain the detergent agents that can break down topical treatments. This means it will not reduce the effectiveness of any flea or parasite control product your veterinarian has recommended or prescribed for your pet.

Q3: What does colloidal oatmeal actually do for my pet's skin?

Ans: Colloidal oatmeal is finely milled oat flour that forms a protective layer on the skin, sealing in moisture and reducing inflammation. Combined with aloe vera and vitamins, it actively soothes itching, supports skin healing, and helps restore moisture to dry or sensitive skin.

Q4: Is this shampoo safe for both dogs and cats?

Ans: Yes. This shampoo is safe for both dogs and cats aged 6 weeks and older. Its soap-free, gentle formulation suits sensitive skin well and handles frequent bathing without stripping the coat's natural oils or disrupting the skin's natural moisture balance.

Q5: Why is it important to leave the lather on for five minutes?

Ans: Leaving the lather on for five minutes gives the colloidal oatmeal, aloe vera, and vitamins sufficient contact time to absorb into the skin. Rinsing too early reduces their effectiveness, so allowing the full five minutes ensures your pet receives the maximum soothing and moisturizing benefit.

Q6: How often can this shampoo be used on my pet?

Ans: Because this formula contains no harsh soaps or drying agents, it does not disrupt the skin's natural oil production with repeated use. This makes it safe for frequent bathing, which is particularly beneficial for pets with ongoing skin sensitivities that require regular cleansing.
